Friars devoted to St. Anthony

Dear Friends,

As we started to prepare for the Solemn Novena to St. Anthony back in late March of this year, I asked some of the friars to write reflections on St. Anthony to be included with the prayers sent out on each of the nine consecutive Tuesdays of the novena.

As I started receiving the reflections back from the friars, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed reading them. I also learned that many of the friars really relate to St. Anthony. Just like St. Anthony, the plans they had for their lives were not the plans that God had for them. It was a very enjoyable and inspiring project for me.

As we get ready to celebrate the Feast of St. Anthony on June 13, I thought you might also enjoy reading a few of the friars’ reflections. Click here to read their thoughts.

Long ago, St. Anthony’s devotion to the poor gave rise to donations of bread to be given to the hungry poor in thanksgiving for favors received and prayers answered. Today, these gifts of bread are mostly financial, given to attend to the needs of the poor in the same spirit.

If you are able, please consider honoring St. Anthony by giving a gift of St. Anthony’s Bread for someone in need.

May God Bless you.

Sincerely,
