Advent Prayer

Lord, during this time of Advent, help us to prepare ourselves for the gift of Christ’s birth.
Open our hearts to the joy that it brings.
Just as St. Francis recognized what a blessing this holy season is, inspire us to see it through his eyes and embrace the miracle of Christ among us.
Remind us to take a break from our hurried pace and set our sights on the true purpose of this season.
Let us focus on the gift that you are to us rather than the gifts we will buy.
During these troubling times, walk with us in our uncertainty and bring comfort to those who are sick or lonely.
Inspire us to reflect your image to others and remind us that we are all made in your image.
Most of all, thank you for finding us worthy of the gift of your son.
