Prepare your heart for Our Lord

You are invited to join us at the St. Anthony Shrine for a new Advent series entitled Leave a Chair for Christ.

The three Wednesdays during Advent, we’ll gather from 7 pm - 8 pm. We’ll start with songs, prayers, a talk and then confession.

December 5: Holy Longing, Fr. Clifford Hennings, OFM
December 12: Making Room, Fr. Richard Goodin, OFM
December 19: Invitation and Anticipation, Fr. Roger Lopez, OFM

This is a wonderful way to experience the anticipation of Advent. All are welcome: Feel free to invite your friends, neighbors or loved ones -- perhaps someone you would like to introduce to our faith.

Fr. Cliff Hennings, Associate pastor of St. Monica-St. George, will host the first service, Holy Longing, on December 5. Get to know Fr. Cliff in this video by Franciscan Media.

Fr. Richard Goodin, Director of Vocations, will host the second service, Making Room, on December 12. In the video below, he talks about his meeting with Pope Francis.

Fr. Roger Lopez, a teacher at Roger Bacon High School, hosts the third and last service, Invitation and Anticipation, on December 19. Fr. Roger shares the great love that Mary has for us. She is Jesus' mother and our mother too.
