August 4, Third day of Novena to St. Clare

Prayer for those suffering from broken relationship and family struggles.

St, Clare herself experienced a broken relationship with her family and struggled to make peace with them, especially with her Uncle Monaldo when she left her home in order to follow God’s call through St. Francis’ example. She turned to God for prayers and guidance. We do not know what became of her relationship with Uncle Monaldo, but we know that her two sisters and mother joined her in the monastery.

There are different reasons and stories of our struggles with family or broken relationships with others. St. Clare invites us to turn to God for prayers and guidance. Praying for them and asking God for guidance will eventually heal conflicts and division, healing our hearts especially when we are willing to cooperate in God’s grace.
