St. Anthony sighting
Unbelievable miracle of St. Anthony
I always thought of St. Anthony as the boring Saint. After all, all he is known for is finding lost things, compared to more exciting saints that were martyred or performed amazing miracles. Well, after finding a novena to this saint I decided to pray to him. A year before I had lost a ruby diamond ring. I had forgotten about it but, after starting the novena I saw something in my drive way, it was the ring I had lost! I thought to myself ok St Anthony, you have my attention.
I started to read about his life, found out his desire to be a martyr but, that was not to be for him. But, he was a great preacher. At that time I was asked to be a lector at mass, which was hard for me because I'm dyslectic. But I couldn't say no to God. I was so afraid. I prayed to St. Anthony to help me read the readings as he preached when he lived.
The day came for me to read. I had asked my 5 children to come to mass for support. Well, to my disappointment none of them came. So I read the Sunday readings, and as I went back to my seat I saw a Franciscan priest standing in the back of the church which was strange because it’s not a Franciscan church. I looked back again and I saw him leaving. I couldn't see his face only his brown robe and cord. My first thought was, why was he leaving? Then after some thinking, I really think it was St. Anthony whom I saw. He came to give me support after my family didn't come. After mass I asked the usher if he saw the Franciscan priest standing next to him. He told me there was no one there but the ushers. Then the head lector came up to me and asked me how many hours did I practice the reading because he said I read it like I was there. So now St. Anthony is my favorite Saint! I praise God for this great saint!
