Fully alive
The Church celebrated The Annunciation on March 25 but Mary’s, “Yes,” holds a timely truth for each and every day.
Fr. Mark Soehner, OFM, reflects on this truth, “Mary shows us how to live fully human and fully alive. So don’t waste the times that are difficult, the times when perhaps you were forgotten, or felt unwanted, or unconsulted, the defeats, the rejections of our lives. Each of these can become treasures planned by God for our transformative process. They allow us to deepen our surrender. It’s an opportunity for God to take over every part of my life in every detail. We consent to God’s invitation. a simple, “Yes,” to love, to surrender. And we are opened utterly.”
