Typhoon Haiyan: Franciscan Relief Efforts in the Philippines

Praise God that Fr. Harold Geers, OFM, and the other friars survived.

However, many of their friends and neighbors were devastated when the storm hit.  I’m sure you’ve seen the pictures from Tocloban.

At the provincial office, many people have called us with concerns about our missionaries and the people they serve and they want to help.  The outpouring of compassion is really uplifting for me.  Please donate whatever you can to our relief efforts.  Please remember to select “Philippines” on the drop down when asked how you would like your gift used.

All of the donations—100% of them- will go to our Franciscan missionaries and the people they serve.  Below is a brief video of Fr. Harold talking about missionary life filmed this summer when he was visiting the United States.   So, please help us to help the people our Franciscan brothers serve in the Philippines.

Since 1956, our friars have served the people of the Philippines. Four former missionaries share their stories of surviving a typhoon:

There was no warning by Fr. Dan Kroger, OFM

It's part of missionary life in the Philippines by Fr. Max Langenderfer, OFM

Baptism by wind, the Spirit, and water! by Fr. Blane Grein, OFM

Roofs flew off like kites! by Br. Philip Wilhelm, OFM
